Cleaning Up the Phone
January 11, 2018So long and hello again, Pantone
June 29, 2018One of the reasons why my all-time favorite go-to book is Alan Fletcher’s Art Of Looking Sideways (Phaidon) is because the book is an endless inspiration and more importantly it was this book that thought me of the importance of looking sideways.
The importance of not always taking the obvious and safe choice, but daring to look in what might be considered as illogical directions.

Few days ago, I received another Phaidon book, that is just that – a look to the side.
The book "Designed In The USSR 1950 - 1989" focuses on the products and graphics of everyday Soviet life of the communist period.
There is a lot from the period that might be perceived as tacky, naïve and even ugly, but if you approach it with open mind there is loads to sink your teeth into and nonetheless a fresh well of inspiration.
